本週：OLPC News (2007-01-27)
1. 廣達電腦 上海廠
上海廣達在本週末進行了一百台 B2 版筆記型電腦的組裝。
David Woodhouse, Jim Gettys, Mary LouJepsen 這周都在廣達上海廠
解決遇到的 bugs；Mitch Bradley, Richard Smith, Chris Ball, Andres Salomon
過去幾天，同時也釋出了好幾版的軔體版本，提供了許多珍貴的測試資料，
讓這一版的能在時程緊迫時實現量產。
2. 新版 OLPC Laptop.Org 網站
新版的 OLPC 網站是由 Pentagram 和 Nurun 強化與設計；本週(2007/01/27)正式上線
也感謝下列這些人： Stephen Michaud, Richard Rowe, 包山包海的 Serge Rosilio(Nurun)
3. 巴西：聖保羅市(Sao Paulo) 和榆港市(Porto Alegre)
3.1 David Cavallo 和 Roseli de Deus Lopes 在巴西聖保羅大學
替教師們舉行了一個 OLPC workshop
3.2 接著，David 和 Lea Fagundes 稍後也在 Porto Alegre 的聯邦大學
舉拜了第二個 workshop.
3.3 Jose Luiz Aquino,
special advisor to President Lula, and OLPC advisor Rodrigo Mesquita
attended throughout. Antonio Battro spoke about the OLPC educational
concept; Sylvia Gonzales and Miguel Brechner, OLPC coordinators from
Uruguay, and Laura Serra and Alejandro Piscitelli, OLPC coordinators
from Argentina also presented.
4. 榆港市(Porto Alegre):
Walter Bender met with the organizers of fisl8.0, the
8th annual international forum on free and open-source software. OLPC
has had a presence at the forum the last two years. We discussed the
possibility running sessions for both developers and educators. Since
one of the test schools for OLPC in Brazil will be in Porto Alegre,
the organizers are considering to showcase the kids using the OLPC
machines.
5. 最後一秒 OLPC B2 版修正
本週時間大都花費在解決 B2 版的一些最後問題；
這些「驚喜」在最後的關鍵時刻冒出來，但是我們的團隊一一克服了他們：
5.1 麥克風問題：新版 FW 解決了偵測與設定 cs5536 的問題
5.2 電源與充電問題：仍有一部分關於電源與電池充電的問題，新版的 FW 可望修正這些議題。
6. OLPC 無線網路
6.1 Dan Williams 參加在倫敦的一場無線網路研討論，許多無線網路
Linux 的專家都參加了；Intel, Broadcom 和 CSR 等公司也出席，同時包含
Cozybit 的 Javier Cardona（Javier 和他們的同事協助了許多 OLPC 和 Marvell 無線網路的實做）
6.2 Red Hat 的 Dan 和 John Linville（linux kernel wireless 模組維護者）
討論有關於 Linux kernel 無線網路程式方面的問題，包含分享更多程式碼維護心得、
與使用驅動程式的 API 。在過去這些 API 有各自的介面，但現在經過一段努力
這些介面更加統一化，以利於 user space 的應用程式來使用無線網路驅動程式。
7. OLPC Sugar UI
7.1 Marco Gritti 讓 Sugar UI 能夠使用新版的程式庫進行運作。
他同時也把大多數的 Sugar 介面，讓他們支援 Python 2.5 / Gecko 1.9
7.2 Python 2.5 有助於 OLPC 的效能和使用壽命
7.3 Gecko 1.9 是 Firefox 3 底層的 engine，這部份的核心也是用於
控制字型大小與影像大小的呈現。 OLPC 200DPI 的顯示螢幕需要 Gecko 1.9
的彈性展示系統。
8. Ricardo Medina, Walter Bender 在遠端的視窗啟動 Sugar 介面；
雖然還有一些問題，不過遠端視窗顯示與啟動的功能有助於除錯的進行；
如，在另外一台筆記型電腦開啟一個 Memphis 視窗；或 projecting from a laptop by mapping to the display
to a conventional machine（譯註：看不懂）。
很多實做仍有待整合至 Sugar，不過這也算是 Proof of Principle。
