展覽簡介
「台新藝術獎」自2002年創設以來，透過成就肯定與實質獎勵，表彰台灣藝術中具有創新的想法、專業水準的表現、和最能彰顯時代精神的藝術展演活動。在此獎每年進入最緊張的國際專家秘密決審階段之際，同步公開舉行的「台新藝術獎」入圍特展，則是主辦單位著眼於讓廣大社會民眾體認台灣當代藝術最新輪廓、文化脈絡和內容精髓的另一年度盛事。
Taishin Arts Award was founded in 2002. Through substantial honoring and rewards, it recognizes innovative ideas, professionalism and artistic performances that manifest spirit of the era for Taiwanese art. While the works of the participants are under final review by multinational jury, we simultaneously organize the Taishin Arts Award Exhibition to inform the public the updates of contemporary art in Taiwan, its cultural context and essence.
2012年(第十一屆)台新藝術獎入圍作品，包含了音樂、戲曲、舞蹈、戲劇等不同類型的10項表演製作，共同特色是，突破性地融合了傳統延續與現代創新的理念；同年入圍的5件視覺藝術展項也有不謀而合之處，特別關注到大型策展案和計畫型的創作行動，共同凸顯了當代藝術積極介入現實與公共空間、重構社會記憶與傳承、乃至於實踐社群關懷等的行動影響力。
The 10 performing arts finalists of the 11th Taishin Arts Award cover different genres of art, including music, Chinese opera, dance, and theater. They all innovatively integrate different traditions and contemporary creativeness. The same breakthrough can be found in the 5 projects in the visual arts category. Through large scale exhibition plans and creative projects, they observe and highlight how contemporary art engages in the real-world public space, succeed and reconstruct collective social memory, and realize the caring for society.

本屆「台新藝術獎」入圍特展，再度由台北當代藝術館統籌規劃與執行，在當代館容積有限的展覽空間中，如何濃縮再現每件入圍作品的藝術特色和內容精華，是當代館和各入圍藝術家/藝術團體通力合作的首要目標；在將近兩個月的展期中，如何引導民眾認知吸收這一年一度的藝術盛餐，讓他們密集地體會享受台灣當代藝文的創意活力與發展成果，則是這個入圍特展的終極目的。為此，當代館也將針對本屆入圍作品的多樣性和特殊性，規劃一系列學術講座和教育推廣活動，希望在學者、專家、創作者和民眾之間，營造更多的互動與對話。
Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei (MOCA) coordinates the plans and execution of the 2012 Taishin Arts Award Exhibition. Constrained by the limited exhibition space in MOCA, the nominated artists/teams and MOCA staffs all strive to refine and represent the artistic essence and content of each project. The ultimate goal of this exhibition is to immerse the audience in the esthetic works and enjoy the creative juice and fruitful results of Taiwanese contemporary art through this two-month exhibition. MOCA also design a series of forums and educational events to introduce the variety and originality of these works, hoping to inspire more interaction and dialogue between the academic experts, artists and the public.
