我記得我大四的時候，為了補通識學分，
也有修「電子出版概論」，是一位聯合報的顧問來上課。

這是...N 年前的事情了 (N > 10)，
當時我們還在辯論
=> 「網頁入口，是否應該讓 Lynx 等純文字瀏覽器也能夠閱讀...」這類的議題
...後來這個議題，變成了幾年前 SEO 的重點

=> 「如何讓圖片變小，但是不破壞電子出版的品質」

=> 「數位浮水印的保護效果」


一些當時老師在課堂上講的「虛擬社群 + 虛擬社區 + 網路交換」
的「先進觀念」(當時我覺得他在唬爛）

1. 去圖書館（越大越好，有電腦查詢系統的）

2. 接著找 "Pattern" （英文），類別當然是「美術」「藝術」類的
不然可能會找到一堆「電腦」「語言」。

3. 一般國立大學圖書館（如新竹的交流道大學、光復路大學、食品路大學），
大概可以找到 5~20 本可用的。

4. 借回家掃描，大概 10 年都用不完。

剛剛在 Amazon survey 幾本書後，
準備前往 bookpool 撿便宜
卻發現，
專賣便宜的電腦語言、軟硬體書籍的 BookPool.Com
大概在今年 2009 春夏之間，已經收攤。

我大概 2/3 的資訊相關書籍都是從 Bookpool 買的
發現這個事實，令人唏噓和震撼！

現在的網頁已經是 GoDaddy Domains 暫存網域廣告。

I am afraid it is so. I was at the Bookpool warehouse a week or two ago and they were in the process of closing down. They were selling their [empty] metal shelves even as I was shopping. I was able to talk to the owner and it is unclear whether the closure is permanent or temporary. The owner did not know whether Bookpool.com would stays closed, reopens or opens in a new form and how long it would take to make that decision. The number of shelves still containing books was about half of what they were a year ago. I am surprised that they had to shut their "doors" so soon. I am assuming that they are closed based on the website, www.bookpool.com, current state. The webpage that is currently showing up at www.bookpool.com does state "coming soon" so hopefully, the closure is temporary.
