2010年在當代館的統籌策畫下,「當代文創聚落」在捷運中山站地下街盛大誕生,此作為年輕藝術家與文創新秀展示與競秀的夢想基地,已成為台北市民自在悠遊體驗當代藝術的獨特場域。當代館為突顯多元的社會價值及和藝術美學,特別以「愛與關懷」為出發點,陸續舉辦一系列「愛在當代‧藝起幸福」展演活動。
今年當代館延續「當代文創聚落」的實驗與創新精神,邀請新銳插畫家范郡琦展出富含個人風格的仕女插畫,她從東晉顧愷之的《女史箴圖》的長卷繪畫出發,仿照中國古代的「仕女圖」(俗稱「美女圖」)來延伸創作,混融了三種不同元素—西方古典仕女服飾、台灣二十四節氣和本土珍貴動物造型,首創了一套風格獨特的當代仕女圖像。
范郡琦巧妙地運用台灣傳統二十四節氣的概念,從中發掘人們的衣著樣式和花紋配色,乃是跟隨著節氣時令的運行有所變化;而當觀者欣賞這二十四位仕女時,將會發現插畫家關注仕女的相貌中,融入了一張張台灣稀有動物的面孔,插畫家強調這不是刻意搞怪或故做滑稽,而是試圖將觀者的「凝視」焦點,從像是窺探競美的仕女群像,轉移到關懷台灣本土特有而瀕臨滅絕的動物身上,在欣賞藝術的「審美觀看」角度活動導入另一層關注本土意涵和生態保育的觀念。
Under the organization of MOCA Taipei, “Contemporary Community of Creative Design” was launched in 2010 on the Zhongshan underground book street. This destination is intended to be a dream base for young artists and rising creative talents, and has since then become a distinctive new spot for the people of Taipei to enjoy contemporary art. In order to place focus on diverse societal values and artistic aestheticism, MOCA Taipei has especially selected to work with the theme of “Love and Care” and has launched a series of exhibitions under the topic of “Contemporary Love‧Art Blissfulness”.
Continuing with the experimental and innovative spirit of the “Contemporary Community of Creative Design”, young illustrator Vicky Fan is invited to exhibit her highly unique female illustrations. Inspired by the long scroll painting, “Admonitions of the Instructress to the Palace Ladies”, by Ku K'ai-chih of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Fan has based her art on these lady portraits from ancient China. However, her contemporary take is integrated with three different elements, and they are: western classical lady fashion, Taiwanese 24 solar terms, and also shapes and styles inspired by local rare animals. The results are a series of very unique contemporary lady portraits.
Fan has ingeniously employed the concept of the traditional Taiwanese 24 solar terms, and the styles of clothing, colors and patterns used are all carefully matched with the changes in the seasons. Furthermore, when viewing these 24 lady portraits, one could see that within the faces of these illustrated ladies are the features of rare Taiwanese animals. The illustrator expresses that this unique feature is not simply created just to add quirky or bizarre twists to the images; instead, her objective is to shift the “gaze” of the audience from a voyeuristic behavior of looking at portraits of beautiful ladies to focus on animals that are near extinct in Taiwan. In addition to the perspective of appreciating something beautiful, another layer is added to raise concern for environmental and animal protection for our local homeland.

提倡生態保育 插畫家范郡琦創造當代混生仕女
〔新網記者麻念台台北特稿〕 在台北這都會裡,有許多學習美術也頗有才華,但知道在眾多想成為藝術家卻不容易成功的大環境裡,轉往靠設計一些商品賺錢,從此在茫茫藝術領域消失。
范郡琦介紹她發想的當代混生仕女希望喚起大家對於台灣本土生態保育議題的關注。(歸鴻亭攝影)
現在文創掛帥的時代,卻有更多的機會給年輕一輩的藝術工作者機會,范郡琦就是那幸運擁有機會嘗試發表自己風格的年輕人,即日起至10月7日在台北當代藝術館當代文創聚落展出「節氣新藝-當代混生仕女圖范郡琦個展」。
原本在高中學習純美術,喜歡插畫並已經自創品牌的范郡琦,靦腆但快樂的表示,當代館找她來舉行創作展,她除了快樂的展示,妹妹也現場彈鋼琴,搭配中國笛的合奏,前來友情支援。

目前就讀實踐大學服裝設計研究所的范郡琦說,這次創作的靈感來自東晉顧愷之《女史箴圖》的長卷繪畫,所以稱為混生,因為藝術家除了仿照中國古代俗稱「美女圖」的「仕女圖」之外,還融合了另外三種不同元素:包括西方上古、中古世紀至廿世紀的古典仕女服飾、台灣的二十四節氣和本土台灣水鹿、帝雉、黑面琵鷺、綠蠵龜等珍貴動物造型的元素。
展場還展出一套由范郡琦親手製做的紙版西方宮廷禮服,與仕女圖像相互呼應,她說,這群仕女不只衣著打扮,隨著節氣時令的運行而有所變化,連長相都不是傳統美女樣貌,反而換上了一張張台灣稀有動物的面孔,並非刻意搞怪或故做滑稽,而是企圖將觀者對於仕女美貌的關注,轉移到本土珍稀並頻臨絕種的動物身上,並喚起大家對於台灣本土生態保育議題的關注。
