Questions about migrating 32-bits to 64-bits SSD Linode

Story:
=> (April 2014) Linode upgrades their infrastructure to SSD host and DOUBLE the storage + memory + bandwidth!
=> However 32-bits VPS hosts must be waited for 2~3+ months to migrate. (say, compatibility issues)

So, "How about manually migrate to 64-bit SSD VPS? which will be faster"
and, of course,
some more cost if you spend too much time on migrating.

Questions about migrating 32-bits to 64-bits SSD Linode

Dear Staff,

My 32-bits linodes are annually pre-paid
and I'd like to utilize the latest 64-bits SSD host you just announced
by "manually migrating" myself.

e.g. create new SSD 64-bit linodes --> manually migrate --> DONE --> delete the 32-bit ones.

My questions:

1. Do you encourage 32-bits users to do so? (manually migrate)

2. Can I keep and use the same IP addresses(both v4/v6), after deleting original 32-bits nodes?

3. Can I keep the annual-prepaid deposit and shift them to new SSD linodes billing balance?

Thank you for contacting us at Linode! What I would recommend is spinning up a new Linode as a 64 bit, install all of the services that you plan to migrate over from the old server, do the migration and migrate all of your data over, then delete the old Linode. We would be unable to provide the old IP addresses, but you are entirely able to swap them before deleting the old server:

The manual migration is a great idea as this redeployment ensures that all of your processes are compatible and directly from the repositories for this architecture.

You can certainly keep the prepaid time, you would just need to inform us before you delete you old Linodes to transfer the old payment method to the new Linodes.
